AATCC 42 Fabric Impact Penetration Tester

Introduction:

The impact penetration tester is used to determine the anti-permeability of fabrics under low impact conditions according to the standard AATCC42, and can be used to predict the anti-rain penetration performance of wearable fabrics. It is not suitable for fabrics that cannot be stretched flat under certain tension.

Principle and Steps:

Water is sprayed onto the test sample surface with a certain tension from a height of (610±10)mm above the test sample. The back of the test sample is attached with a known weight of absorbent paper. The weight of the absorbent paper is measured again after spraying and the permeability is calculated.

The one end of the test sample is clamped along the width direction on a steel plate with a metal spring clip attached, the length of the metal spring clip jaw is (152±10)mm, and the other free end of the test sample is clamped by a metal spring clip with a jaw length of (152±10)mm and a total mass of (0.45±0.05)kg. The test surface of the test sample is subjected to spraying. Weigh the mass of white blotting paper with dimensions of (152±10) mm× (229±10) mm, accurate to 0.1g, and insert it between the sample and the test stand.

Pour (500±10) mL of reagent into the funnel of the tester to spray the sample, and try to avoid swirling phenomenon during the pouring process.

After the end of the spray (continuous spray stop 2s), carefully remove the absorbent paper, and quickly weigh the quality of the absorbent paper, accurate to 0.1g.
