The Eyeglass Nickel Release Tester is designed to evaluate nickel release from metal components that come into direct contact with human skin, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.

Product Overview

According to ISO24348 and related standards, all metallic items in direct skin contact—including eyewear frames, jewelry, belt buckles, and accessories—must undergo nickel release testing. The permissible limit is no more than 0.5 micrograms of nickel per square centimeter per week. This tester uses a roller mechanism to simulate wear over approximately 5 hours, effectively damaging surface coatings to assess nickel release.
