Product Overview

The Tissue Softness Tester is a precision instrument that simulates hand feel to measure material softness. Designed in compliance with GB8942 national standard for paper softness determination, it's ideal for testing medium and high-grade toilet paper, tobacco sheets, fabrics, and similar sheet materials.

Test Principle

The instrument measures softness by pressing a plate probe into the sample to a depth of approximately 8mm. The softness value (in millinewtons) represents the sum of the sample's maximum anti-bending force vector and the friction between sample and gap. Lower values indicate softer materials.
