Significance and application of distillate fuel oil oxidation safety tester method (accelerated method)

1 Distillate fuel oil oxidation safety test method (accelerated method) provides an evaluation method for storage stability of medium distillate fuel oil with 90% recovery temperature lower than 370 °C. This standard is not applicable to fuel oil containing residual oil and fuel oil whose main component is non-petroleum components.

2 Distillate fuel oil oxidation safety test method (accelerated method) cannot predict the amount of total insoluble matter formed after middle distillate fuel oil is stored in tanks for a certain period of time. The amount of total insoluble matter produced in oil tank storage is affected by some special conditions, which are too different from the test conditions of this standard to be accurately predicted.

3 Distillate fuel oil oxidation safety test method (accelerated method) is faster than the SH/T0690 method. However, since this standard is tested in a relatively high temperature and pure oxygen atmosphere, the amount and properties of the measured insoluble matter are more deviated from the actual storage than SHT 0690.
