How to Apply Test Method: SATRA TM123:2018 on Testing

This method aims to assess both the peel and shear strengths of touch and close fasteners.

It’s required to determine the loss of strength after repeatedly using. The method is suitable to all kinds of touch and close fasteners which is provided on a roll and also those part forming from completed footwear.Method 1 Peel strength

It’s required to press both parts of a touch and close fastener together under expected conditions. The average force is controlled to peel them apart along their length from either end. It needs to measure the force with a tensile testing machine.

This procedure is then repeated. At the same time,one of the parts of the fastener is turned through 180°.

The following parts will be released next day:

Method 2 Peel strength after repeated opening and closing

Method 3 Shear strength

Method 4 Shear strength after repeated opening and closing

Method 5 Peel strength of fasteners attached to footwear

Method 6 Shear strength of fasteners attached to footwear
